23-24 Travel Tryouts!!!

Hello HT Basketball Community!

 

Haddon Township Youth Basketball is excited to transition into our fall and winter seasons. We had an excellent Spring with our 3v3 League and an excellent Summer with some boys teams in the St. Rose Summer League, girls teams in the new Haddon Twp Summer League, and our Summer Clinic for 2nd and 3rd graders. It was great to see so many players continue to work on their skills and have some fun on the basketball courts!

 

As we transition to our fall and winter seasons, our focus is turning to our Travel Basketball program. We will be holding our no-fee tryouts on September 9th & 10th (see tryout dates/times below). While we understand that this is a lot earlier than previous years, we feel it is important to get our travel teams set to take part in Fall Workouts, October Team practices, and November scrimmages. This will allow our players to be more prepared for the winter season and competitive in their leagues. 

 

We welcome all players, grades 4-8, to try out for travel basketball. Travel basketball offers a competitive environment for those who are committed to the game of basketball and team environments. During the month of October, teams will have optional weekly practices. In November, teams will have 2-3 practices a week. It is important that players are present at all practices. While coaches are understanding of extenuating circumstances, they are committed to providing the best experience for their team and players, which means having all players present and part of the team. Games start in December/January (depending upon the team and league they are entered into). There will be 2 games a week, typically on weekends, through March.

 

The cost commitment for our travel teams will be roughly $300. This includes league fees, ref fees, equipment fees, and HTAA fees for registration costs and Uniform Purchases. We will be getting new uniforms this year and are in the process of design and pricing. We don’t expect the price of our uniforms to increase from prior years, so it should be around $80-$100 for uniforms. Since these will be new uniforms, all teams/players will need to purchase uniforms this season. We will stay on a 5 year uniform schedule, so the uniforms you purchase this year will likely be good for 2-3 years depending upon sizing and your child’s growth. 

 

Players MUST be a resident of Haddon Township in order to participate on one of our travel basketball teams. This is a rule of the leagues in which we participate and there is a validation process that we go through for each player within the league. 

 

Please note that while we encourage all players to try out and will do everything we can to form enough teams, there may be situations in which player cuts will happen.
